We can’t help but brag about our amazing volunteers. Little Smiles volunteer Reina Delgado has been helping us create smiles for more than two years.

She first volunteered for Little Smiles with a friend at the Feast of Little Italy two years ago. At the Feast they helped kids make get well cards to send to children in local hospitals. This really resonated with Reina because when she was 10 she had her appendix out, but had complications and had to stay in the hospital for a while. During her stay, the nurses brought her an Easter basket and she even got a visit from a leprechaun. So she identified with Little Smiles mission from the start and continued to volunteer.

Last year, Reina decided to join the Navy. Before leaving for boot camp in February, she decided to volunteer with Little Smiles as much as she could.

We are so grateful to have Reina as part of the Little Smiles volunteer team. She volunteered at the Feast again and was instrumental in helping to get our Toy Drive up and running. Reina is always eager and available at the last minute whenever we needed help.

Reina has enlisted for four years in the United States Navy, but she can see herself staying for eight. She is studying to become a mass communication specialist focusing on photo journalism. We are so proud of Reina and incredibly thankful to have her as part of the Smile Squad!
