Little Smiles is proud to have Florida Public Utilities as its presenting sponsor for the 13th Annual Stars Ball. Their primary goal is to help homeowners save money, lower their utility costs and create less impact on the environment by using natural gas. But they don’t stop there. They help make the entire community a kinder and more compassionate place to live. Their volunteer efforts have made an amazing impact on area nonprofits over the years, including Little Smiles. Thank you, FPU, for all you do for our community and local children.
A special thanks to Ocean Properties for hosting an amazing breakfast for this year’s STARS, and to Gabriela Chang for getting photos of the fun.
Gilda’s Club South Florida provides a gathering place where kids with cancer, as well as their families and friends, can support one another as a supplement to regular medical care. From support groups to information sessions and fun parties, they are there to help heal hearts and families. Little Smiles supports their annual NoogieFest, provides snacks for the kids and more! Gilda’s Club South Florida is a great partner in smiles.
Little Smiles relies on volunteers to get ‘hands on’ in creating smiles! Each facility the charity serves has ‘Little Smiles Ambassador’ teams that help with gift deliveries, junk food runs and putting on special parties for the kids. Ambassador nominations come primarily from staff and board members, and can become an option for seasoned event volunteers over time. These smile makers deliver on our mission to bring joy to area children in need. A special thank you to our friends at Granite, LLC for all their help this month, they are a force for smiles!
One of our favorite things to do is help a Nurse make someone’s wish come true. Some children have no idea that their nurse was listening when they talked about their biggest wish – which makes the big reveal that much more fun! This is the kind of BIG smile we see when it’s truly a surprise. Thank you for making these special moments between children and their caregivers.
When little ones first find themselves in the hospital it can be an overwhelming experience. Small toys can bring immediate distraction and comfort when everything seems scary and unfamiliar. Nurses like Nanchesca know that having something close by is so important, which is why they turn to you and Little Smiles to fill their treasure chests full of joy and smiles. Special thanks to donor GPM United, Inc. for providing stickers, matchbox cars, puzzles, dolls and more for this toy run at Bethesda East Hospital!
