A Star among Stars, our summer intern and 2015 Star Jaycie Cohen made a quick visit to Palms West Hospital to cheer up Alexis (2017) and ran into Hailey (2017) as well! All three Stars have lit up the red carpet at a Little Smiles Stars Ball. The unit was so bright, the nurses had to wear shades!
Little Smiles is proud to announce it will now be serving children at the request of nurses at Martin Memorial Hospital’s pediatric unit in Stuart. We kicked off the fun with a donation of swings, bouncy seats, mobiles and more to cheer up some of their youngest patients.
We are so excited to be forming a new lead volunteer team to serve our northernmost partners which include Martin Memorial Hospital, Lawnwood Regional Medical Center and Treasure Coast Hospice.

One Little Smiles donor was so touched by the story of the Rogozan family that he sent them on the trip of a lifetime! Disney World, of course.
Little Rania, who was a Little Smiles 2016 Stars Ball honoree, enjoyed all the sights and sounds of the most magical of all places for children. She has been fighting her way through Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) since her first surgery at just 8 days old, but this getaway was all about fun and family.
The whole Rogozan family is such a treasure, thank you to all who helped make this wish come true!
Sometimes leaving the hospital does not mean you are done with treatment. A child may be put on a “homebound” plan that allows them to be treated and continue their education in a supportive environment.
Challenges arise when the child or home is not equipped to handle the transition. In this case, Chris needed a laptop that he could use for school whether he was at home or in the hospital. Something that would keep him connected and moving forward, things that are very important to a teenager’s sense of well-being during treatment.
“Is it mine?” he asked. “No,” said the nurse with a pause, then she added, “just joking!”
“It is mine!” he shouted to his brother with a big, incredulous smile.
Little Smiles is excited to be returning to PGA National on May 19, 2017 for its 17th Annual Golf Tournament! This year the crew is doubling the smiles, as foursomes have their choice of playing either the Champion or Fazio course.
“This event is the most fun you will have with your cleats on!” jokes founder Chip Donohue. One of the longest running tournaments in the county by a local charity, golfers are guaranteed to have a good time and make a big impact on the lives of children being treated in local hospitals.
