Development Coordinator

 

Position Overview
In partnership with the Executive Director, the Development Coordinator will play a critical role in overseeing all event-based fundraisers in support of fundraising goals and public awareness objectives. This unique opportunity is ideal for someone interested in gaining nonprofit experience and strengthening their project management skills in an entry-level role.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Oversees the planning, organizing, and coordination of agency events, as assigned
  • Assists with the execution of signature events, as assigned
  • Recruits, trains, and coordinates volunteers
  • Tracks all volunteer activity and plans recognition initiatives
  • Works within established networks or identifies networking opportunities to obtain donations and community support
  • Establishes positive relationships with outside agencies and makes available all resources
  • Manages existing resources to maximize efficiency
  • Manages the data regarding hours contributed by volunteers as well as potential donors.
  • Assists in the preparation of newsletters and calendars for internal staff and external publication
  • Provides technical support for funding proposals; assists with direct mail campaign
  • Composes and mails necessary communications to external supporters/stakeholders on behalf of the agency

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Required

  • Associates Degree
  • Minimum of two years experience in coordination of projects and events
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Current Florida driver’s license
  • Possess strong interpersonal skill, common sense, and a warm and outgoing personality. This is extremely important given the very diverse nature of the organization and the communication aspects of the position, both internal and external.

Other Requirements

  • Proficiency in computer skills, database management and office software
  • Uphold the ethical standards of the Agency
  • Follows policies and procedures of the Agency
  • Ensures risk management practices are followed to maximize opportunities
  • Must work evenings and weekends as required to fulfill workload requirements.

Preferred

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree
  • Three or more years of volunteer engagement

Salary Range: $31,000 – $34,000
