To know her, is to love her! Donna has been with Little Smiles for just over a year now as one of our most valued volunteers. When she told us her goal for 2019 was to volunteer 100 hours at Little Smiles, we gladly accepted! If there is any event, big or small, Donna is there with a smile on her face, ready to serve! We are so grateful that during Stars Ball she stepped up to take the position of lead volunteer. We could never do what we do without wonderful people like Donna, sharing her time with us to help Little Smiles deliver our mission. Thank you Donna and all of our amazing volunteers!
Little Smiles is teaming up with the Alliance of Women Executives (AWE) of Palm Beach County to offer two $1,500 scholarships to local young women who plan on entering the medical field. Applicants must be graduating from a Palm Beach County high school and plan on attending Palm Beach State College or Florida Atlantic University.
“AWE is proud to collaborate with Little Smiles,” said AWE President Vicki Tate. “Two nonprofits working together is a win-win. These young women are our future healthcare workers and may be future Little Smiles partners.”
This year, AWE is offering 10 total scholarships. In addition to the two Little Smile scholarships, AWE offers eight additional $1,500 scholarships to young women pursuing any area of study. Women graduating from any Palm Beach County high school who are planning to attend Palm Beach State College or Florida Atlantic University can apply.
Recipients of all 10 scholarships must meet the requirements, which are listed on the AWE website. Scholarship applications and additional information can be found at www.aweinc.org/scholarship. Applications are due April 5. An awards ceremony will take place April 23, in Jupiter.
The mission of the Alliance of Women Executives (AWE) is to bring executive, professional and entrepreneurial women together to share business experience and knowledge as well as promote higher education for the next generation of young women in Palm Beach County. Learn more at www.aweinc.org.
Unfortunately, sometimes children who are nominated as stars for our Stars Ball are unable to attend the gala. This year Maja was nominated, and sadly unable to participate due to hospitalization. We were able to recognize Maja as an honorary star at the Stars Ball and deliver gifts to her in the following weeks.
We want to do everything we can to support our stars! It was a pleasure to be there for her last weekend as she hosted her own pink lemonade stand in the park!
