One of our favorite things to do is help a Nurse make someone’s wish come true. Some children have no idea that their nurse was listening when they talked about their biggest wish – which makes the big reveal that much more fun! This is the kind of BIG smile we see when it’s truly a surprise. Thank you for making these special moments between children and their caregivers.
When little ones first find themselves in the hospital it can be an overwhelming experience. Small toys can bring immediate distraction and comfort when everything seems scary and unfamiliar. Nurses like Nanchesca know that having something close by is so important, which is why they turn to you and Little Smiles to fill their treasure chests full of joy and smiles. Special thanks to donor GPM United, Inc. for providing stickers, matchbox cars, puzzles, dolls and more for this toy run at Bethesda East Hospital!
All of the units at Palm Beach Children’s Hospital have ‘Workstations on Wheels’ (WOWs) so that nurses can go room to room and manage their patients care in the most efficient way possible. So when our Child Life Specialist friend Brittany suggested a WOW holiday decorating contest between all the units – we were all in! Little Smiles provided the material, and the nurses competed for the winning title! It was a big decision for judges Virginia Sinicki and Chip Donohue. The winning unit decorated their WOW’s like reindeer and had them pulling a “sled”! But everyone got lunch and had a great time. Thank you for helping us support these amazing professionals who care for and make kids smile every day.
These little red wagons make going to and from procedures in the hospital a lot more fun! Thanks to your donations Martin Memorial Hospital is creating lots of smiles and easing tension for kids who would otherwise have difficulty navigating around the hospital with their IV poles. From battery operated riding cars to wagons, Little Smiles helps kids stay on the go!
On December 19, we spent an unbelievable evening with the patients and staff of the Paley Orthopedic and Spine Institute at St. Mary’s Medical Center experiencing the impact of the Little Smiles Toy Drive. Paley Institute patients and their families celebrated the holidays together with dinner, crafts and cookie decorating. Then Santa delivered more than 160 toys to patients and their siblings.
