A watercolor safari that is! Little Smiles newly formed Youth Council had their regular meeting at the Quantum House this month, then did a fun watercolor project with the kids!
This group of talented young leaders is doing special projects and helping Little Smiles get in touch with high school clubs and other groups in an effort to engage more local teenagers in creating little smiles. Aren’t they amazing?
Every month at Palms West Hospital the kids have something to look forward to: PIZZA PARTY NIGHT! And our volunteers don’t just deliver on the food – they bring the Italian music, costumes and BIG smiles! We love our volunteers…and we have other hospitals that would love to offer a similar night for their young patients. Consider volunteering for Little Smiles to help spread the smiles all across southeast Florida!
Little Smiles hosted two Nerf Gun fights this month, one with around 10 kids and one with over 30! Engaging in Nerf battles creates the biggest smiles for kids. It’s like all their worries fade away and are replaced by running, dodging, hiding, laughing and just plain having fun! Our volunteers have a pretty good time too!
Pediatric nurses truly understand that no matter who the child is, they are unique and special. And at Little Smiles we feel the same way about nurses. These amazing professionals work long shifts and struggle to get breaks in between challenges and crises.
An important part of our work is honoring their dedication and courage with fun outings and meal deliveries. We love our nurses!
